UNBROKEN 2024 qualifying event is now published!
In honor of Unbroken's 10th anniversary, we have put together an event for the athletes that tests gymnastics volume, maximum strength, and endurance.
The qualifying events are some of the best events from previous years, and some may be familiar from previous qualifying events. So now is a great opportunity to test your own development as an athlete or qualify for the toughest CrossFit competition of the fall for the first time!
We wanted to list a few tips and things to remember in the qualifiers, so read these and let get the best effort out of your performance.
Ensure yourself the right equipment!
The rowing machine must be a Concept2 brand machine. If you can't find a Concept2 rowing machine at your gym, you can rent one from our sponsor at Podium Gym Solutions or inquire about the possibility of using the machine at a neighbouring gym.
See that all the necessary equipment is there before the start of the event.
Check the permitted and prohibited aids on the sport card!
Allowed equipment is: sports tape, weightlifting belt, gymnastics grips, wrist supports and neoprene knee and elbow supports.
Remember that only the athlete is allowed to touch the equipment during the rowing machine.
Make sure you have a competent judge and take responsibility as an athlete
To ensure the most reliable score, make sure that your judge knows the event standards and rules
The performance must be videotaped and the video must be uploaded by the competitor to YouTube or a similar video playback service. The link from the video can be saved as a link to the Reppi.fi website when entering results.
Consider in advance the maximum weight for the weightlifting part
Consider what is the maximum weight you can lift and gather at least that amount in weight plates. It's also worth taking a little extra, so that when that peak lifting day hits, you can easily and quickly add weight to the bar and continue the performance.
Go through the event standards in advance
Because most likely somewhere during the event you will hit a wall, so try to do all the moves as well as possible. The more rejected reps you get, the less power you have for successful lifts.
Don't leave the results to the last minute!
If you complete the qualifier well in advance, it’s better to submit the results in the system early on, because around the final minutes the system is always overloaded and this might disrupt your score submission.
Remember to have fun!
In the end, the essence of the competitions is to have fun and enjoy the training, so put your best foot forward.
See you in October!
